Restoration and Preservation
Keeping the fair alive for future generations to enjoy
When Horton’s are not presenting their traditional rides and games, we’re busy preserving them.

Preserving a Forgotten Art
Unfortunately, the art and craft of the old-fashioned fairground has been almost entirely overlooked by the establishment, with next to no public money being invested in preserving the wonders of a bygone age and an art form enjoyed by so many. Preserving this heritage falls to a few independent museums and people like us that not only preserve it, but still operate it for people to continue to enjoy.
A Labour of Love
Most of the work we do makes no financial sense whatsoever, but it is what we take pride in doing to the very best of our capabilities. We are lucky to have a team of people around us with a wide range of traditional skills at their fingertips, joiners, carvers, decorators even people still able to carry out ‘brilliant cutting’ to glass.
