‘Jackson’ Toy Roundabout
Built in this country just after WW2 this ride is very rare in retaining all its original toys, giving children a wide choice from being a passenger in a double deck bus to riding a motorcycle!
Horton’s were lucky to find this very fine example that had been in store for many years and put it back to work in 2010.
As with all our other equipment the whole ride is hand painted to a very high standard.

Austin Cars
Ten genuine 1950s Austin J40 pedal cars that have been converted to run around a static base, giving small children the wonderful sensation of driving their own car.
The cars themselves were built by invalid miners in a factory specially set up in Wales by the Austin motor company. They offer timeless appeal with chrome-plated radiator grills, bumpers and mascots. Headlights and dashboards further add realism. This ride is further enhanced with period road signs and flashing ‘Belisha’ beacons. The control box is decorated with period car racing scenes.

Dobbies
Circa 1900
The very simplest of designs sees horses and cars hanging from a revolving top frame. Originally hand powered this type of ride saw great popularity on the fairgrounds of the late 19th and early 20th century. It is still greatly enjoyed by the younger generation. The ride features hand painted decoration as well as shiny twisted brass poles. The ride can be made complete with music supplied by a 37Key organ fitted in the centre.

Juv Chairs
A small version of the large Chair-o-Planes especially for small children.
The origins if this ride are from the turn of the century. There are many examples of children’s rides built around this type of very simple and reliable design, this one having chairs hanging from the revolving frame. Each of the 24 chairs has a safety chain and strap for maximum safety and is therefore suitable for very small children. In keeping with all of our equipment the chair-o-planes are decorated by hand to the highest of standards.

Train Ride
Built in the 1960's by 'Winnards' our train ride allows all children to fulfill their dream of driving a train whilst ringing the bell!

Octopus
Believed to have been built by Coulson's in the 1950's or 60's small 'cars' spin whilst rising and lowering as the ride rotates. The ride was extensively restored by the previous owners, Carters Steam Fair, who also decorated the ride to a very high standard in the style of renowned fairground artists Hall and Fowle.

Swing Boats
The earliest of fairground rides, in their heyday several examples would be found at any fair.
The structure is all built of timber which is of course all hand decorated.
The 'Boats' are propelled by the riders themselves simply pulling ropes. Our Swing Boats are suitable for Children although adults can accompany children.
