A Look Back at the 82nd Goodwood Members’ Meeting
Revived in 2014 and now a staple in the GRRC members' diary, the event once again captured the spirit and camaraderie of the original meetings held at Goodwood throughout the 1950s and 60s.
Vintage Fairground Magic
Amongst the spring daffodils of West Sussex, our vintage steam fair brought smiles and joy to visitors of all ages.
Children lived out their racing driver dreams as they whizzed around in our charming Austin Cars – always a crowd favourite.
From the top of The Big Wheel, guests took in a bird’s-eye view of the racetrack, while others embraced the thrill of our hand-painted Chair-O-Planes and took a nostalgic ride down the traditional Helter Skelter.
Bringing Joy to Generations
Horton’s Steam Fair’s traditional fairground added so much more than just complimentary vintage rides to the Members’ Meeting experience.
Much like the revival of the event itself, Horton’s Steam Fair was years in the making. As our (89-key Galloper ride’s organ played melodies from decades past, older generations were transported back in time - reminiscing about their own memories of Goodwood.
Meanwhile, new generations made magical memories of their own, proving that some traditions never fade.
